Welcome to my blog. I am starting this blog to talk about quilting and embroidery. I have been quilting for many years. My grandmother was my inspiration and I hope that I am an inspiration to other quilters.
The first quilt I remember making was in 1976. My brother and his wife were expecting a child and I made a quilt. I am not certain it was a very good quilt, but it was a quilt and it was my first attempt at something that has grown into a passion for me.
The next quilt I remember making was what I truly consider as my first quilt. I purchased a series of books from some mail order house and one of them was a "learn to quilt" book. I used this as my reference and used all sorts of scraps that were laying around in my sewing room at the time. I don't recall the quilt as being of a certain pattern, I think it was probably a 9 patch as that is what I remember my grandmother telling me to do! I still have the quilt. I think I made it in 1983 or 1984.
I hope that I will be able to contribute to the quilting and embroidery world with this blog.
